Hello Again

So the test is done. Whew. They're definitely not ones that I'll be framing or putting on the fridge, but I made it through. And given the way I handled getting started, I can't stand here and complain a bit.

I spent the whole afternoon today redoing my bedroom. Time for a full fresh start. Everything's in a different place, old certificates are taken off the wall, new paint (well, for touch-ups) is in place. I'm pretty excited. Tomorrow I'm going to head to the thrift store to see if they've got any nice couches there. I had the perfect one - Grandpapa's - but I just couldn't squeeze it through the door. Believe you me, I tried! We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Whoa!!!

OK, so here we are on October 3, and I haven't updated since July 23? What's that about? Ha!

So yeah, apologies are in order. I've been neglecting my "reflection time." See, as much fun as it was for you guys to read this, it was even better for me, on a therapeutic level. I miss that. And I'm ready to have it back. The past few weeks have been rough. I guess it's that I haven't adjusted to being back in school all that well, but I'm starting to hit the upswing.

One thing that I need to work on fixing is my people skills. For some reason I've sort of lost my ability to deal with other people. How sad is that? I'm finding myself getting frustrated way too easily and it's starting to really take away from my happy demeanor. It's time for that to stop, though. I need to get my smile back. Any thoughts?

I've never found myself at a point where I just wanted to break down when around my friends, but that happened to me the other night. And I have to say that I didn't like it. Not one bit. Literally, I didn't say a single word because I knew if I even thought of talking that I'd break down. And honestly I had no real reason to. But, I do owe it to my friends for following up with me to make sure that I was in an alright place. I guess that's why I've got them in my life. And thank God for that!

Then again, there's a whole lot to thank Him for. During this whole phase, it's not that I ever doubted He was with me, but I was having the hardest time finding Him. Then, my bro kindly reminded me that God does that for a reason - He never leaves, but He does take a step back to see just how you'll respond. And that's the key - to respond by pursuing Him more. So that's what I've set my heart toward, which is technically where it should have been all along, but to actively chasing after Him. He can run, but He sure can't hide. :)

Alright, time for me to make my way towards bed. I've got a LONG study day ahead tomorrow, so pray that this stuff actually sinks in my head.

Until next time...

It's Been Some Time!

Sorry it's been so long, but I'm a bit under the weather. New updates coming soon...

Welcome to Fripp

I'm in South Carolina now. I'll be here until Saturday. Sad news that cell service is very spotty around here. There are pockets with full reception, and then there's our house with nothing. But we do have a herd of deer that hang out in the front yard. Literally, a herd. Love it!

Until next time...

Completely Exhausted

Guys, I'm so worn out right now, it ain't funny. That's part of the reason why I didn't update yesterday - sorry. To be honest, the updates might become a little less frequent - there's just not stuff to write about every single day. But, as soon as there is stuff, you know that y'all will be the first to know!

I'm really starting to love my piano. It took me long enough to really get into it, but I think I've finally figured it out. How cool is that??? I'm pretty stoked. I mean, I can play through whole songs now and they actually sound like the songs that they're supposed to be. Now THAT'S some cool stuff right there!

What else am I in love with? That's right - the iPhone. Want to see a picture of one (not mine, just one off the Internet)?

Until tomorrow...

So Excited!

So I got my birthday present today!!! Seriously, it's so cool. Get ready - I now own an iPhone!!! I swear, my parents are the best ever. Well, not just because of the present, but because they are just the coolest ever. In every single way. WOO HOO!!! I HAVE AN iPHONE!!!

Really, that's all the updates I've got for you for the day. But isn't that pretty huge?

Until tomorrow...

Driving Day

So I woke up this morning wondering what I was going to do with my day. Well, by lunchtime that question was answered. Morgan's dog Lily was sick, really sick, and she needed to go to Auburn to get some serious care. Well, they needed someone to follow them and bring the vet tech back to Birmingham, so I found myself carpooling to Auburn for the day. How about them apples? But hey, I'd do it for anyone I love, so no big deal.

Other than that, I don't really have much to report on. Sorry guys!

Until tomorrow...

Catching Up On Sleep

So I set my alarm last night so that I'd get up at 9:30 this morning, but turns out I set it but never turned it on. Oh well. There's never any harm with an extra hour of sleep on a random summer morning!

Raise your hand if you got some Chicken Tortilla Soup for lunch today. Yep, my hand's up. I love that stuff. Seriously, it's tasty stuff. It'll sell. Ha.

I've decided to go low-carb, high-protein.

Alright, I'm outta here.

Until tomorrow...

Amazing Sunday

What a great Sunday! Today marked my first Sunday at the Grants Mill campus, and what a great day to be there. Pastor Larry had a great dedication message on wisdom, and worship was great. During "In Christ Alone/The Solid Rock," our special to close the service, it was just amazing to see the responses on people's faces. People were literally weeping over God's goodness, and what a joy it was to be able to help them (all of us, actually) come to a point where it's just so clear. Actually, I have to admit that He was totally in control of my worship, because if He hadn't have been, then there's no way I could have hit that G# after the key change. Ha. Plus, it was great to have so many friends and family there and for them to come and just thank us for all that we did. Then again, it wasn't really us. We just serve.

I spent the afternoon helping a friend move apartments. Then I just hung out with Jack and Maggie all afternoon. We actually escaped on a bit of a car ride. Jack really liked that I had my back seat down and my beach chair spread out back there. Doesn't he look happy?

I'm starting to make some major progress on this piano business. I owe it all to Nicki. Thanks, Nicki!

Alright, time for me to get these contacts out. Y'all have a great night!

Until tomorrow...

Is that really rain?

Can you believe it? It's been raining all day long! How great is that? Maybe the yard will lose some of its, well, deadness. That'd be nice, huh?

I didn't really do much of anything today. We got a new sink for the kitchen, couldn't get the stove top because the appliance store was closed. By the end of the summer we'll have one nice kitchen. The project after that? The driveway - including putting in a backyard and, you guessed it, a pool. :)

Tomorrow's the big dedication Sunday, and I cannot wait! It's going to be such a great experience. Plus, I'm getting all sorts of family to come and share in the fun, which just kicks up the happiness by a factor of at least 10. Of course, with the new church I'll be there from 6:30-12:30, which is quite the day, but really worth it. It helps when you love all the people there.

On that note, I'm going to go make my way towards bed. 5:00 is quite early. But I can't wait!

Until tomorrow...

Slow and Easy

Just the way your mother likes it, Trebek. Ha. OK, kidding.

Today was a nice slow and easy day. I woke up at 9:00 and actually had to wake the dogs up! Talk about a nice treat for me! Then again, I think I've got a lot more days like today lined up for the rest of the summer.

This morning marked a milestone for me. Today I decided would be the perfect time for a Driver's License renewal, so off I headed to the DMV. I was only there for about an hour and a half, actually, which isn't too bad. Bonus was that it didn't even feel like an hour and a half. I basically had to get everything about my license changed - picture (of course), height, weight, and eye color. Actually, the best part of being there was watching the 15 year olds come running out of the testing room to tell their moms that they had passed the test and were getting their permits. Brought back memories.

My afternoon was spent watching hours and hours of TiVo. Don't worry, Jack and Maggie got to come upstairs and enjoy it too. Doesn't she look relaxed on my bed?

Tonight we had a game night for the folks from Trinidad. We had 13 people show, which I was actually quite impressed with. It was great to be able to hang out with all the peeps again. Something tells me that this might become a regular thing, and I wouldn't mind that at all. I really do love these people.

Alright, time for me to head to bed and see what else TiVo has in store for me. Y'all be good!

Until tomorrow...

Home Again, Again

And they're so glad that I am! I busted them out around 4:00 this afternoon, and they've been loving life ever since. And, you know, I'm glad to be back with them, too. The stuffed animals only got us so far while we were down there. Too bad the rest of the family isn't here to enjoy them like I can!

The drive today went really well. We made great time, didn't have to stop all that often, and had an all around good time.

Choir tonight went well. Getting ready for the big day Sunday. I can't wait!!!

Until tomorrow...

Happy Fourth!

Happy Independence Day, everyone! Normally y'all get a nice, long dissertating on the Fourth, but since I have to get up in the morning and drive home, I can't really stay up and give the full expose. Needless to say, I hope you all took some time today not just to celebrate our nation and the freedom given us through the men and women who have sacrificed their health, lives, and families for us, but to also thank the Lord for the freedom awarded through the love of Jesus Christ. Now THAT'S freedom!

Speaking of freedom, I just want to give a huge shout out to the kiddos in the parade this morning. As you can see, it was quite the nice time!

Alright, time for bed. Be good, guys.

Until tomorrow...

Tired and Wet

Yep, so it definitely rains down here starting at 1:00 every day. Ugh. Today it rained harder than it has this week, which is a bit of a bummer. Tomorrow's goal is to head out around 7 or 8 and soak up whatever sun we can since it's my last day down here. Like I said, that's the plan.

I love my family. I mean, seriously.

Until tomorrow...

What a Night!

Today was a blah day sunwise. It was clear until around 1:00, but after that it rained the rest of the day. Oh well. We do the best with what we're given, right?

Tonight was a great night! They have a Monday night concert series on the Green down here, but after that was when the fun kicked in. We came back to the house and started with catchphrase, but that ended up as motown dance party, and I was all over it. Actually, everyone was. Especially my grandmother. Anything to see her happy, and to see my grandfather having a fun time just watching her doing, is good stuff.

Tomorrow will hopefully be a HUGE sun day, but we'll have to wait and see what happens. Pray for sun! :)

Until tomorrow...

Zonked

So this morning I woke up at 6:30 just out of a dream, and all I could think was how if I were in Birmingham I'd have to be at church then. But I'm not in Birmingham, so I got to go back to sleep until 9:00! Woo hoo!

Church this morning was really good. A lot of patriotic stuff, which I'm always a fan of. The whole family ended up going, and it was a nice start to the family vacation, not to mention a nice start to going to church down here. Bring it on.

I had a nice day at the pool. One of the PT girls from Trinidad who's down here came to play for the day, so that's always a plus. I'd have to give today two thumbs up, if I have to rate it. Good times!

Well, I really want to zonk out right now, so I think I shall. Y'all be good!

Until tomorrow...

Rain, Rain Go Away

So we made it to the new place today! Unfortunately, there's no Internet here except for dial-up, so I might not be updating every day, but y'all will be ok with that, right? I'll do my best to keep you guys up to date, though.

We were able to get out for about an hour and a half today, but then the storms started up. Not fun. Hopefully they'll back off for the next few days so that I can get some good sun time in.

Tomorrow's going to be a great day. I'm going to start it off with church down here (which will mark the first time I've ever gone to church at the beach - that's pretty cool). Then it's hanging out all day. Love it.

Alright, off to bed. Be good!

Until tomorrow...

At the Beach

Well, I'm back at home! Yay! Seriously, what better place is there than right here? None, that's what's better than here. I mean, how could you see a moon view like that and not be in love with all that God has created? If you can, then we need to talk, cause there's some stuff you need to get straightened out.

The drive down today was a really good one. Nothing eventful and very few police. Just the way your mother likes it, Trebek.

So tomorrow is going to be a transition day where we go from the house to our house for the week. Other than that, I plan on getting a good walk in in the morning with my dad and then hanging out at the pool all day. Let's go ahead and get this color started!

We just got our rotation schedule for July, and it looks like I get to spend both of my Sundays that I'm in town at Grants Mill. I also get a Wednesday night in the mix, so it should be a great month. Lots of travel and worship. What a great combo!

Well, I think I'll call it a night now so that I'm good to go for tomorrow. Y'all be good.

Until tomorrow...

Winding Down and Gearing Up

Middle days aren't really good for me. These are the days that sort of sit between things - in the middle, if you will. The family headed down to the beach this morning, and I had to stay around Birmingham for choir and for a friend's party tonight, so I'll be heading down tomorrow. So that makes today a "middle day," which isn't all that fun.

My computer's doing all sorts of funky things tonight. I think it's sleepy. So am I. I guess we make a good fit.

I just want to give a shout out to the people in the picture to the left. These guys are amazing, and they deserve major props. Talk about your Divine Nine.

Well, I'm going to close this out and head to bed. Lots of driving tomorrow. Pray that we make it down there safely.

Until tomorrow...
